Spring has sprung in March 2025 and it’s a busy time down in our horticulture area at LVS Hassocks! We are currently weeding and mulching the area and we have just planted some lovely roses, a new venture for this year. Vegetable and flower seeds have also been sown in readiness for this growing season and the guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and one of the baby lambs are continuing to come and explore the area.
The stumpery has developed a nice display of daffodils which is next to a new wildlife pond containing frogspawn and the new greenhouses in the polytunnel are encouraging our seedling and keeping critters away! Some of our Year 9 students in particular, are working hard towards their BTEC in Land Based Studies, with the guidance of Jo and Al. They have been planting alliums, courgettes, sunflowers, corn and chard, some of which will be sold in our café or used in our delicious lunches.
